The Rocky Mountain Tibetan Terrier Club was organized in 1997 for the purpose of
hosting the TTCA National Specialty which took place in Denver in 1998. The Club,
which is now incorporated as a Non-Profit, has grown to 60 dues paying members, most
of whom are pet owners, but it also includes all of the breeders in the region who serve
as mentors. The Club has hosted numerous Regionals and Supported Entries. It
served as host for the TTCA National Specialty in 1998 and 2004 and will do so again in
Denver in 2009.
Membership is open to all who own or have an interest in the breed. A quarterly
Newsletter is published. The two major
annual events are a “fun day” with dogs held in a large fenced area with agility
equipment and other activities for the dogs such as a hat competition. Owners partake
of a barbecue and pot luck lunch. Members also bring items for a raffle which is the
club’s main fundraiser of the year. The other event is a Holiday Lunch Party without
dogs with activities such as a “Silliest TT” photo contest and an update on issues of
interest to Tibetan Terrier owners.
Meetings are held at both events at which time plans
for future activities are discussed along with fund raising. In addition to raising funds for
the Regionals and National Specialty, the Club raises money for Tibetan Terrier health.
It currently contributes excess funds to the Tibetan Terrier Health and Welfare
Foundation. Club members also get together at the various All-Breed Shows in the
region.

Bay Colony TT Club
SMALL BUT MIGHTY. Established in the late 60’s, and originally named the Tibetan Terrier Club of New England, we are one of the few recognized Tibetan Terrier Clubs. Although our membership is small we are very fortunate to have had Alice Smith at our helm as President for many years along with many dedicated working members, some of whom you may have already had the opportunity to meet in May when Bay Colony hosted the TTCA’s 2010 National Specialty, expertly chaired by our board member JoAnn Gatzen. So many of our officers and members went above and beyond in their efforts to make it, as well as our own 11th Annual Specialty, a memorable event for all. Or perhaps you had the opportunity to visit New England in the fall of 2003 when Bay Colony was host for the TTCA National Specialty, Agility Trial, the World Congress, and again our own annual Specialty in Sturbridge, Mass.
In addition to our annual specialty, usually held in June, we offer a fun match, an eye clinic and raise funds to donate to worthy TT related charities or research organizations.
We hope you will plan a visit with us in New England soon.
